My heartfelt gratitude to bassist Yosef Gutman<\/a> for reaching out and inviting me to make an album together. I was not familiar with Yosef’s work before he wrote to me, but was immediately moved by his album Upside Down Mountain<\/a> and also fell in love with his collaborative album with pianist Omri Mor<\/a>. For our own collaboration, the two of us were joined by three other wonderful musicians, the beautiful pianist Yonathan Avishai (whose album Joys And Solitudes<\/a> I recommend highly), cellist Yoed Nir (known also for his work with the amazing Regina Spektor), and an incredible young guitarist named Itay Sher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While I can often be found switching a lot between different instruments, for this album I played only my first instrument, the violin. It was a real joy to explore the depths of this one instrument within the rich context of all the lovely sounds being made by these new friends. And this project served as a very welcome and much needed break from working on my next solo album, which has been in development for a couple years now. More on that when the time comes!
